چکیده
Abstract. By rigorously accounting for dimensional homogeneity in physical laws, the ? theorem and related self-similarity hypotheses allow us to achieve a dimensionless reformulation of scientific lower-dimensional context. This paper presents applications these concepts partitioning water soil on terrestrial landscapes. For such processes, their complexity lack first principle formulation make analysis an excellent tool formulate theories that are amenable empirical testing analytical developments. The resulting scaling laws help reveal dominant environmental controls partitionings. In particular, we discuss how dryness index storage affect long-term rainfall partitioning, key nonlinear control global datasets weathering rates, existence new macroscopic relations among average variables landscape evolution statistics. sediments, elevation profile, spectral self-similar topographies also unveil tantalizing analogies with turbulent flows.

Dimensional Reduction without Continuous Extra Dimensions
We describe a novel approach to dimensional reduction in classical field theory. Inspired by ideas from noncommutative geometry, we introduce extended algebras of differential forms over spacetime, generalized exterior derivatives, and generalized connections associated with the “geometry” of space-times with discrete extra dimensions. We apply our formalism to theories of gaugeand gravitationa...

lysogeny, transduction, radiation effects, genetic expression, and comparative aspects. Stent's real purpose in writing the book is probably revealed in a statement at the end of the seventh chapter in which he states that it has fallen to the students of the bacteriophage to bridge the gap between chemistry and genetics-hence the term "molecular genetics" and, no doubt, the title of his text. ...

[1] This paper reviews theoretical and observational material on form and function of natural networks appeared in somewhat disparate contexts from physics to biology, whose study is related to hydrologic research. Moving from the exact result that drainage network configurations minimizing total energy dissipation are stationary solutions of the general equation describing landscape evolution,...
متن کاملData Mining in Hydrology
A large number of data mining techniques and tools are available for extracting trends, characteristics or rules from data. A selection of those relevant to hydrology are covered in this paper. Clustering, classification, association rule extraction and dominant mode analysis and the ways in which each family of techniques could be used in a hydrological modelling context are considered. In add...
